Gunpowder, Plague and Fire

Yes, all of these have been going on in Lucy-land today... simultaneously! For weeks I've been mulling over my Year 5 History Assembly and figuring out how I could make it all hang together. And then, slightly overwhelmed by it all, I've tried to kid myself that I didn't have to write it and just pushed it back into the deepest corners of my mind again.

Well, I finally got off my arse last night. It had to be written. Go me!

Given that we're learning about The Stuarts next term anyway, I've made it the theme of our Class Assembly too. I began last night at 9pm and I've just finished tweaking it. All twenty-four parts each have a moment of glory and it is a blend of sober scenes and silly fun. I'm just hoping that, once it is in the hands of the children, they can bring it alive and that they enjoy it! I've absolutely loved writing it. A good bit of distraction and a rest from the Spanish for a day.

Shall we club together, Lucy and produce a book of assembly / plays..... We could be RICH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then we could do a Bragelina / Madonna and just buy babies ! ... and call them all ridiculous names.... What do you think of Jamie O's new child's name ? It would be a shame if she turned out to be a chunky little bespectacled thing.... !!!!
