Sweet Serendipity

After school today, I drove down to Dulwich Post Office to send off my Visa application to the Uganda High Commission. There was nowhere to park, so I pushed on up to The Plough instead. Having got out of the car there and started towards Post Office No. 2, I got tooted at by a moped rider who shouted that I'll get a ticket if I parked there. Pants-parking-restrictions noted, I got back into the car and drove via the back roads towards Post Office No. 3 in Sydenham.

Be patient with me!

However, I couldn't get directly through to this Post Office either because somebody had put annoying bollards on Friern Road. Doubling back on myself, I finally get out onto Peckham Rye and discover quite by chance Post Office No. 4. Hooray and a cartwheel... I find a park and am soon talking with the Post Office Man... who was born in Jinja, Uganda, and knows well the small township of the school I'll be volunteering in. Beautiful serendipity. I've never been so pleased there wasn't a queue behind me. And hooray to bollards.
