One Hundred Snow Drops

Admittedly it wasn't my best ever lesson, but at least I'd made it into school today and croaked my way through double Maths like a ginger toad. Enlargements. In dire need of a cup of tea, I vanished into the staffroom at morning rec, only to be handed a beautiful-looking parcel by our receptionist.

I could see it was from home. Mum's writing on the sides. It's her birthday today.

And as I peeled back the brown tape and opened it up, look what I saw peeping shyly back at me! One hundred Snow Drops from our garden in Cornwall, bundled in bunches of twenty-five and with twine wrapping their tender stems into a tight hug.

Dad's idea. What a gift! Precious.
