The baking is done and the car is loaded! I spoke with my siblings Soph and TJ this morning and there is an uncanny sense of excitement surrounding this time away in Dorset together. We have all been so busy that it is something we have hardly chatted about and now...
...it is here!
Soph, Jonny & little Findlay had only been travelling for half an hour when we spoke on the phone and Fin was already exercising his vocal chords to maximum capacity. Once he's pottering about on the lawn, bare foot, I am sure he'll find everything much more fun. I suspect there might have been a little heartbreak for him to say goodbye to 'TeeTee'. That is Findlay's name for TJ. When he sees his uncle, he lights up with a sharp intake of breath. They like playing games together and TJ seems to have endless silliness up his sleeve, which he shakes out again and again and again. Funny to imagine what on earth we all did for entertainment before Findlay was born. Why ever don't we mess about in the same way, even when children aren't about?! Or do we need to have an excuse to look daft? Happy days.
Rob flies over from New York tonight and will be joining us tomorrow, as will my parents.
Let the adventure begin..
